Human Portrait, 2022

UV print on aluminium

1.00 x 1.00 m

Human Portrait consists of two circular aluminum sheets joined transversely to create a structure that is inspired by the shape of solar clocks. One of the two circular disks has a UV print on both its sides. The print is a digital drawing that depicts several animals and organisms that live in or close to wetlands and are currently endangered. The second disk slightly reflects the sky, the surroundings, or passengers looking at the object closely. The sculpture is placed next to a lake/wetland in order to raise awareness of the precarious condition of  our ecosystems and the role of humans within them. The title and the reflective part of the sculpture aim to highlight the entangled and interwoven relationship between humans and the every other species that co-exist in the planet.
